Video is subconsciously descriptive. I often marvel at photos that captured 1/1000th of a second, but ever since I was a teenager I knew that video reveals for me a sequence of emotions in a completely different way. There are countless scenes from Hollywood cinema that I can replay in my mind because they have affected me on some deep level. When I capture a bride and groom looking at each other, so much is conveyed in a two second clip.

I find that the video magic often happens in the moments in between poses, and compliments photography. I NEVER ask couples to look at my camera, but only to look at each other. During portraits I try to talk as little as possible, but the line I say the most is "kiss when you feel like it". It always looks immeasurably better that way.

I don't like using a title for my style of shooting and editing. You'll hear terms like documentary and cinematic thrown around. Some videographers will get offended if you call them anything but a “film maker”. I strive to find the balance between creating art, and documenting important moments well. I want to make something awesome for you, and I always let couples pick their song.

I create short and sweet 3-5 minute films that show the most beautiful, fun, and emotional moments from your wedding day. I use Canon cameras with L-Series lenses, and I've shot over 300 weddings. I’m based out of Melbourne, Florida but I often travel all over the state. Destination weddings: yes please. Please email me with your wedding date, city, and venue and I'd be happy to send you my rate sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Are you obtrusive?

One of my favorite compliments is when a potential client tells me they don’t remember seeing me much on their friend’s wedding day, but they loved the finished product. I want to be unmemorable.

Getting ready: Obviously I’m in the room, so I try to be as uninvolved in the getting ready process as possible. I always leave the room when the bride puts on her dress, and I am invited back in for the finishing touches when it’s Disney rated.

Ceremony: I am up front for the processional to capture everyone coming down the aisle, but as soon as the officiant starts speaking I circle out and stay at the back the whole time. I will never be up close during a ceremony.

Portraits: Photographers are great at posing couples and getting timeless imagery, but when it comes to video I need interaction. As mentioned above I just want you looking at each other.

Reception: There are some amazing videos out there with videographers circling the couple during their first dance. It looks awesome, but I don’t want your guests’ memories of your first dance to be “that guy was spinning around them”. I record the formalities from the edge of the dance floor. When the party is in full swing I have to get in the mix with guests, but with discretion.

  • I’m not sure video is for me. What if I’m awkward on camera? If you’re having fun and enjoying yourselves it’s going to look awesome. I promise. . Let’s go for a walk. Smiles. Laughs. Kisses.

  • How long will it take to receive my highlight, ceremony, reception speeches, etc? Up to one month from when you pick a highlight song.

  • Do you have backup equipment? Oh yes. Multiple cameras and lenses. Over the last 13 years I’ve had a camera or two hit the ground on wedding day. Backups, backups, backups.
